Wayne Deakin headlines all the big Australian clubs and tours across North America but is based in London (“It’s just simple economics. Britain’s where they’ll spend every red cent they’ve got on booze and entertainment.” ) His amiable, laconic style works to draw you in but there’s plenty of biting social commentary here too, so Wayne will have you both laughing and thinking. Wayne is currently campaigning to have Prince Phillip made Prime Minister.
“My jaw hurts from laughing, that was funny!” Beat
Cork’s Chris Kent could well have made it as an electrician but prefers to generate sparks of laughters as Ireland’s fastest rising young comedian. His sharp style preys on his own everyday life and his sometimes brutal self-deprecation makes for a compelling and hilarious set. Voted as one of the Top Five Irish Comedians by Hot Press Magazine in 2013, he was listed as “one to watch” by The Dubliner magazine the previous year.
‘Impressive’ Irish Times ‘Carefree, comedic bulls-eye’ The Dubliner
Compere for the evening is Mike Wilkinson and Stoke’s Ben Briggs takes the middle spot.
