Comedy @ Lymm Festival

We’ve been programming the comedy at Lymm Festival for a few years now and whether it’s been in the world’s poshest tent at the rugby club or the slightly less adventurous surroundings of the Lymm Hotel the shows have been extremely well received. In fact, Lymm Festival just wouldn’t be Lymm Festival without the sound of laughter! We return on Saturday 29th June 2019 and below is last year’s fantastic line up;

Troy Hawke, the latest character from comedian Milo McCabe is as believable as he is blisteringly funny.  troy-hawke Gerrards Cross ComedyThis idiot savante dresses like a matinee idol, speaks in perfect received pronunciation and is completely at odds with the world around him. Whether recounting an afternoon at the football with ‘the chaps’ or engaging in ‘audience badinage’ with the front row you can be sure the laughs come thick and fast.  Edinburgh Fringe runs have been rewarded with GQ Magazine’s Top 10 Shows Of The Fringe and a Time Out Critic’s Award. Troy’s also building a cult following on YouTube with his documentaries on great British institutions such as Wetherspoons and Wilkos. 2018 saw him go viral and come to national attention when he foiled a street robbery whilst remaining completely in character!

‘Undeniably funny’ ★★★★ Chortle ‘Mad comic genius’ The Scotsman

Steve Gribbin Austerlands Steve Gribbin specialises in bang up to the minute, short sharp, topical songs. Steve has performed around the world and has appeared at every Glastonbury Festival over the last twenty years or so. He has also managed to upset both Jim Davidson and Noel Gallagher.

‘You can count the number of truly imaginative comic singers currently on the circuit on the fingers of one hand. One of this select band is Steve Gribbin.’ Time Out

Compere for the evening is Stockport’s Alex Boardman who proves ever-popular with audiences, and although often dancing deliciously close to the Alex Boardman Gerrards Cross Comedyboundaries, the lack of malice, and warmth to his approach, means everyone feels they’re in on the joke. Alex’s sharp writing skills mean if you’ve found yourself falling off your chair in a fit of giggles watching TV’s latest successful comedy offering, the chances are, Alex is responsible.
