Comedy @ Rendezvous, Astley
Comedy @ Rendezvous, Astley. Friday 15th April
Astley may not be the first place you would associate witha comedy night but, if the first show was anything to go by then it could well become a very popular destination on the UK comedy map. We return on Friday 15th April and, once again have hand picked a fine selection of comedians for your delectation and delight;
Brum’s Andy Robinson became a stand up quite accidentally as guitarist in ‘The Carpetsweepers‘ when his banter between songs reduced both the audience and his fellow musicians to hysterics. Tour support includes Sean Lock, Rich Hall and regularly for Jo Brand who Andy has now worked with for many years. “The comedy equivalent of gold dust – pure talent” Birmingham Post
Nick Doody ‘s career as a stand-up got off to a pretty good start, when Bill Hicks asked him to support him on his final tour of the UK. Sharp and topical – he’s not afraid to say what he thinks; his brand of political comedy and satire has won him fans all over the country…in fact all over Twitter as well, where he’s polled as one of the influential names in British comedy.
“I love Nick Doody”. The Independent
